CMH Training is one woman with big ideas and a passion for animal rescue, behavior & training.
Sheyenne Hoyt, born & raised in Spokane, WA, grew up on her father’s farm with cats, dogs and horses but it wasn’t until she got her own dog, Cooper, that truly made her understand how strong and how deep a bond can grow. Family and Friends would say that Sheyenne & Cooper had a once in a lifetime bond, they are soulmates. Cooper was her rock, helping her through tough times and was able to make her smile. Sheyenne worked with Cooper and even taught him odd tricks like how to burp (to be fair, she was 14 at the time..)
Fast forward to 2021 where Sheyenne got a job working with a local animal shelter that sparked her passion for rescue and introduced her to her current pup, Estella, aka Queen Estella, aka the dog she adopted her second day of work even though she said she wouldn’t. While caring for Estella, Sheyenne has had to work on problem behaviors that she’s never experienced as an owner before like Separation Anxiety, Stress & Inappropriate Urination, and Territorial issues.
Working at the shelter taught Sheyenne many wonderful and useful skills like handling different types of breeds for exercise, training, health exams and intake appointments. She saw many families who were in need of surrendering or even ones who recently adopted, struggling with behaviors that could be worked with but they didn’t know who to reach out too. This is what ignited the idea; to become an animal trainer and behaviorist in order to help families who are struggling with problems behaviors in hopes to decrease the number of surrenders.
Just like them, she didn’t know how to deal with such hard behaviors for the first time and with the right information, was able to recondition those negative behaviors to more healthy and appropriate ones. Sheyenne wants to help families gain that knowledge and the skills to work with their animal and grow a better, healthier bond. To elevate the quality of life for both owner and pet. So she continues to volunteer with local rescues even to this day and has been going to the Animal Behavior Institute to earn her certificates in Canine & Feline Training & Behavior Modification.
Thus, CMH Training came to life!
